Advanced Level Examination will not be postponed.
A fundamental rights petition submitted to the Supreme Court demanding to postpone the advanced level examination was taken for hearing today (22) and case No. SC/FR/240/2023 has been rejected and the case No. SC/FR/254/2023 has been withdrawn by the petitioners.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Department of Examinations will take action to hold the advanced level examination this time from the 04th to the 31st of January, 2024 as had been scheduled earlier.

Advanced Level Examination to Proceed as Scheduled: Supreme Court Rejects Postponement Plea

In a pivotal decision today, the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has dismissed a fundamental rights petition seeking the postponement of the upcoming Advanced Level Examination. The case, numbered SC/FR/240/2023, was brought before the court, but after due consideration, the request for a delay has been rejected. Additionally, another case related to the matter, SC/FR/254/2023, has been voluntarily withdrawn by the petitioners.
The rejection and withdrawal of these fundamental rights petitions signal that the Advanced Level Examination, scheduled to take place from the 4th to the 31st of January 2024, will proceed as planned, as announced by the Sri Lanka Department of Examinations.
