Eligibility requirements:
• Should have obtained a degree of at least a duration of 03 years in any stream of subjects from a university/ a recognized institute by the UGC.
Or
• Should have obtained a Pracina Pandit degree.
Or
• Any other qualification considered equivalent to the above which is accepted by the senate of the university.

Master of Arts Degree Course (With Research Component) (02 years) (M.A.) (SLQF 10 – 60 Credits)

Stream of Subjects : Buddhist Studies/ Sinhala/ Pali/ Sanskrit/ English
Course Fee : Local Students – Rs. 57,000/-
Foreign Students – US$ 705

Eligibility requirements:
• Same Qualifications mentioned above under course No. 01.
Or
• Should have obtained one year M.A. degree from a university/a recognized institute by the UGC.

Structure of the Course
06 written question papers and one independent dissertation have been included. There are 60 lecture hours for each subject Unit. This Course is conducted as a weekend Course for a period of 36 weeks with 06 hours each per week.

P.G.D./M.A. Degree (One Year/Research Component) – Rs. 1000/-

NB. : MA in English Studies
Candidate should have followed a special degree in English or a General degree majoring English.
OR
Should have a postgraduate Diploma in English Language/ Literature/ ELT from any UGC recognized
University

The Candidate should pass the selection test conducted by the Department of English and face an Interview.
