Master in Teacher Librarianship (MTL)
The teacher-librarian is a course designer, teacher, as well as the librarian for building instructional media collections for the school. As information specialists, they help assure equity of information by working with teachers to help them and their students learn the necessary skills to identify, access and use the appropriate resources.
MTL is a flagship course offered by NILIS since it’s inception.
Entry requirements
A candidate should fulfill both A and B.
A). Educational and professional qualifications:
i) A Bachelors Degree in Education OR Library and Information Science with First or Second Class Honors, awarded by a recognized higher educational institution OR
ii) A Bachelors Degree in any discipline awarded by a recognized higher educational institution, and a Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Library & Information Science or Teacher Librarianship awarded by a recognized higher educational institution OR
iii) A Bachelors Degree in any discipline awarded by a recognized higher educational institution; AND a three year Diploma/Higher Diploma in Library & Information Science.
B). Appointment as a School Teacher or Teacher Librarian with work experience in a school library.
