Master of Education Degree Programme -2021/2023 

Applications are invited for the Master of Education Degree programme conducted by the National Institute of Education Maharagama. 

1.0 Eligibility: 

Sri Lanka Teacher Service (SLTS) 

Sri Lanka In Service Advisors (SLISA) 

Sri Lanka Principals’ Service (SLPS) 

Sri Lanka Teacher Educator Service (SLTES) 

Sri Lanka Education Administrator Service (SLEAS) 

The Principals & Teachers of Pirivenas or Government approved schools 

Academic officers of the National Institute of Education or government approved Educational Institutes 

2.0 Required Qualifications: 

A Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a minimum 05 ‘B’ Passes or

 A Bachelor of Education Degree with a minimum 05 ‘B’ Passes or 

A First Degree with a class and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education 

3.0 Nature of the Course: 

Part time ( Weekends and School holidays ) 

4.0 Course duration: 

18 months 

5.0 Medium: 

The course is conducted in all 03 media.( Sinhala/Tamil/ English Medium)

6.0 Regional Centers:

Maharagama

7.0 Course Fees:

Course fee Rs 100 000/=

8.0 Mode of selection 

Candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained at the entrance examination and the interview. 

 A Postgraduate Diploma in Education with a minimum 05 ‘B’ Passes or

 A First Degree with a class and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
